What's new in Elements
This month brings two practical upgrades for everyday advisor work: a new Estate Status Element for estate planning conversations, and a cleaner way to close old assets and debts without losing their history. We also shipped several quality-of-life improvements across net worth, client access, AI assessments, and in-app product updates.
Estate Status: a new Element for estate planning readiness
Estate Status gives advisors a structured way to review estate planning readiness directly inside the scorecard workflow. Firms can turn the beta on from Elements Labs, customize the default template, and set household-specific Yes, No, or N/A statuses with notes, attachments, and review dates. Items marked N/A are excluded from the score calculation, so the Element can adapt to each household instead of forcing every client into the same estate planning checklist. Read the deeper launch post on the Estate Status Element.
Close accounts while keeping the history
Assets and debts can now be closed instead of deleted. Closed accounts are removed from current net worth calculations, but their history remains available in a dedicated read-only section when advisors need to reference past balances, prior loans, or old client context. If an account truly should not remain in the household history, it can still be deleted.
Other & Fixes
- Elements Labs is the new home for beta featuresEstate Status is the first beta in this new Firm Settings area, giving firms control over when beta features appear in their workspace.
- Email notification controls are available in Firm SettingsFirms can manage onboarding email notification behavior at the firm level, then refine communication preferences for individual clients when needed.
- What's New is available from the advisor Help menuProduct updates now live inside Elements with an unread badge, so advisors can discover new releases without leaving the app.
- Closed accounts stay accurate on net worth graphsClosed accounts remain represented until the actual close instant, preventing the net worth graph from dropping an account one chart point too early.
- Negative net worth displays more clearlyNet worth values now use standard negative-currency formatting, and mobile net worth charts handle negative bars without overflow.
- AI assessment refresh failures are now visibleIf an AI assessment regeneration fails, Elements now surfaces the failure instead of leaving the stale assessment looking unchanged.
- Client portal routing is cleanerClients who land on the advisor sign-in page now get a direct link to the correct client portal.
- Plaid-off firms no longer see connected-account prompts in the client portalWhen Plaid is disabled for a firm, connect-account actions and onboarding steps are hidden from the client experience.
- Firm switcher navigation is more resilientRepeated clicks on the firm-name button no longer send advisors to a nested `/firms/firms` route.
